CIDB STRIVES TO IMPROVE INDUSTRY STANDARDS BY SIGNING MOU WITH CIOB

The Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB Malaysia) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). The MoU is part of CIDB’s efforts to improve project management and construction management practices in Malaysia.

Datuk Ir. Ahmad ‘Asri Abdul Hamid, Chief Executive Officer of CIDB, ​​signed the MoU on behalf of CIDB, ​​while Caroline Gumble, Chief Executive Officer of CIOB, signed on behalf of CIOB. Present at the ceremony were YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Works and Ir. Yusuf Abd. Wahab, Chairman of CIDB. Also present at the ceremony was Amy Gough, CIOB Membership Director, who also witnessed the signing.

Starting next month, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) will be led by Datuk Seri Dr. Michael Yam, who will be the President of CIOB. He will be the first Malaysian to be appointed President of CIOB. He also became the second non-UK President since CIOB was established in 1834.
